Lighting Mentor Apprenticeship 2023

In 2023 I had the opportunity to work with an amazing group of artist’s under the leadership of Jeremy Vickery. We worked for 6 months creating concept art for a tv show, coming up with ideas, designing characters, environments and vehicles then finally creating art for an animatic teaser. Throughout this process we received feedback and direction from Jeremy, mimicking a studio-like environment.

Initially we all came up with as many ideas as possible before getting more focused. I was then in charge of figuring out the design of The Burn, the part of the Earth that is in perpetual daylight. This included designing The Burn itself, the characters, where these characters lived as well as their vehicles. I was also in charge of a couple of the shots of space, including the matte painting for the opening shot.
